It's been over a year since Covid-19 restricted our movement and changed our lives forever.⠀ ⠀ As expected, I've not been anywhere really. The farthest I've been from my house was to my sister's farm in Tanay, Rizal. I am itching to get back on the road, but things kept changing on a daily basis so I really can't plan. But what I can still do is talk about travel! 🦩 🦩 🦩 ⠀ 𝐋𝐀𝐒 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐒 | 𝐘𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭á𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐜𝐨⠀ ⠀ The pink color is so intense that at first sight, it made me gasp in pure delight!⠀ ⠀ The pink tint is from microorganisms found in the water with high salinity level; so usually near a salt reserve. This reminds me of Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia where there is also Las Coloradas with wild flamingos ⠀ ⠀ See next photos for the 🦩they’re super faraway. They were taken with a 150mm; the 400 would be so good. ⠀ ⠀ 𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝑻𝒐 𝑮𝒆𝒕 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆?⠀ ⠀ There are a bunch of tours online but I got a car so I used google map and drove. Type in “Las Coloradas” instead of Rio Lagardos. I did it as a day trip from Valladolid because the town itself doesn’t have a lot to offer and hotel room options expensive. But now wish I had, I would have had the chance to explore possibility to fly my drone over the pink lake instead of racing to drive 124km back to Valladolid. ⠀ ⠀ The salt mining company owned the pink lake so it is gated. The entrance is free of charge but you need to pay a guide to enter which they get to keep 100%. It costs me 50MXN because my host in Valladolid told me not to pay more than that. On the way to the gate, there are people flagging you to offer to take you to the entrance. They will try to charge you 100 or 200mxn. We didn’t know to allot time for that, so we had to cancel! Thankfully because Balloon Over Bagan was $400 per person.⠀ ⠀ 𝘛𝘩𝘦 🔥 𝘴𝘬𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘺 @enlightpixaloop ⠀ One year later, there I was in Turkey, the world’s most famous hot air balloon destination. My balloon guy said they fly 300 days of the 365 days. What are the chances, right? But it too was cancelled on our first day due to wind 💨 But this time I’m prepared and had 5 days to spare, ha! ⠀⠀ ⠀ 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐝𝐞?⠀ ⠀ You can book your balloon ride everywhere in and out of #Göreme. They vary in prices, but they’re all the same, depends on who you book with and how many layers of reseller commission.⠀⠀ ⠀ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗠𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗲?⠀ ⠀⠀ If you book with a nice hotel or travel agency in town, you may pay between €200–300 (not private) or you can haggle or book in a hostel between €80-100 euros. I paid 110€ found them on facebook ad I think. But be very careful. You don’t have to prepay. You pay if you actually fly.
