Shenzhen Economic Zone – Special visa can be secured at the border of Hong Kong for HK$ 100. It takes about 5 minutes and valid for 5 days. This is not valid to other part of mainland China.
—is this valid for Philippine passport holders? do you know what is the process and what are the requirements?
yes. you’ll pass thru it before they let u out of the train/airport.
I recently checked at the Hong Kong/Shenzhen border and Philippine Citizens CANNOT get a Shenzhen Visa, they must have a Chinese Visa to enter China.
Thanks for the update Jim.
very informative blog, xie xie ni! May I ask, for NBI application saan advisable mag-apply sa Manila?
you go to robinson’s otis or mandaluyong city hall. there are times na hindi masyadong toxic but i think in mandaluyong, you have to go there really early, as in really early. from what i’ve heard, they only give 500 numbers/stubs per day.

my bf invite me to have a tour in china for one week and his french,, i ask a travel agent to get my china tourist visa,, i submit all the req, already but i am unemployed,,
they ask also the bank c.passport, visa, copy of his salary and picture of us being together,, do u thnk i can get my visa?
Im an australian here in the philippines,my girlfriend is filipina, there always the possibility of visa refusal, there goes money for round trip ticket and hotel reservation. To my understanding one cant hop on a plane without a return ticket to almost anywhere in the world, why china has the ridiculous rule is beyond any reasonable thought. My girlfriend is a teacher, once she applies for 2 months leave she can then cancel it, so visa refusal would leave her 2 months unemployed.Ive seen many posts of visa refusals, china does not have to state why it was refused..
same with Japan when my sister was refused twice-no reason. And also US visa is a mystery to many Filipinos.
We were just at the border at Lo Wu station in HK yesterday and to our gross disappointment, they no longer issue visas for Shenzhen to PH passport holders at the border. After almost an hour on the MTR, we only got yelled at by the a-holes at the visa processing office on the 2nd floor. Since they’re not at all tourist-friendly, all that idiot could say, no, scream in his broken English through the window was “No Visa!” after taking one glance at our passports. Apparently, the procedure for securing their stupid visa for us lowly Pinoys has changed and it’s not posted ANYWHERE. We ended up wasting 2 hours and HKD 70 for the train ride back and forth. Screw Shenzhen!
THank you for the information and update!
