Applying Schengen Visa from French Embassy Online

Every information you need is now available on the new France-Visas website. After filling the visa application form, you will be redirected to the on-line appointment and tracking systems of VFS Global.

Applications can be made earliest three (3) months before the planned entry.
How much is Schengen Visa?Â
The visa-processing fee is EUR 60. The fee is non-refundable even if application is unsuccessful.
What are the requirements in applying Schengen Visas?
1. Signed and filled up Schengen Visa Application Form (click this) with photo attached, plus 1 additional photo.
Photo Specification
- Color photo taken against white background;
- Clear and of good quality;
- Printed on normal photographic paper;
- 45 mm high x 35 mm wide in size
- Taken with nothing covering the face, without sunglasses or tinted spectacles, or a head covering
- The subject should have their mouth closed (no grinning, frowning or raised eyebrows) and the applicant should be facing forwarding, looking straight ahead.
2. Valid passport with 3 months validity from the end of visa duration. Photo copy of valid and former visas, if any.
3. Cover letter explaining the purpose of your trip and detailed itinerary. If you don’t have this, you have to write one on the spot before they will accept your requirements. Here is the cover letter addressed to the Honorable Consul I made in 2007.
4. Details of your trip
- Round trip ticket reservation. Reservations only.
- Itinerary of the whole duration including departure and arrival dates.
- Accommodations – hotel vouchers, seriously. If you’re staying with a good friend who is a French resident/national, then you need them to provide you with something called Attestation d’accueil (Certificate of Board and Lodging) and your host’s national identity card or residence permit.
Why I said good friend?  Because it’s a lot of trouble for them to get this. If you have a French national host, just cut and paste below list for the document you needed from them.  These are basically records of their existence in France such as title of property or contract of lease, utility billing statement as address proof, bank statements, medical records, pay slip, and finally they have to go to the city hall to have all these certified. Like I said, lots of trouble. :)
The attestation d’accueil is a form needed to be presented to the City Hall with the following documents:
5. Proof of employment
- Certificate of employment stating monthly salary and approved leave of absence.
- If self employed, official business registration for current and previous year.
6. Proof of Income
- Income Tax Return
- Recent Bank Certification
- Photocopy of the last 3 months statement of Account of the same bank account.
- If someone other than yourself is paying for the the trip, then submit financial document of the sponsor instead.
7. Identity / Marital Status:
- Photocopy of First page of Passport and all relevant obtained visas
- Authenticated birth certificate from NSO. If married, bring photocopy of your marriage contract.
8. Travel insurance that covers the entire duration of your intended stay with minimun coverage EUR 30,000. The medical policies must state the following points :
- Medical attention and treatment will be given in case of illness or accident
- The injured or ill traveller can be transported home for treatment + body repatriation in case of death
- The insurance coverage is a least 30 000 euros (50 000 US dollars)
- The insurance must be valid for all 25 Schengen member states which should be listed on the policy
- The insurance company must be re-insured, the name of the re-insurer and his TOLL FREE phone number must be listed on the policy
- The policy must allow CASHLESS SETTLEMENTS of claims. The name of the company in charge of such settlements and their toll free number must be clearly stated on the policy.

Hello po. I do have a shengen visa already and my sponsor will shoulder all my expenses. Ask ko lang if the airport immigration will still ask a show money? Please do reply I will be leaving on Saturday. Thank you
Hi. I just wanna ask If u already traveled? I got schengen visa too but I’m worried if the immigration will ask some documents like show money..pls. Let me know soon.
No. If you are sponsored by a host, they will just ask you a letter from your sponsor.
It’s always a good idea to have atleast some funds (such as for example cash, debit card, credit card, …) and not totallt broke. So you can call your host/sponsor, pay any unexpected small costs etc. If you have no financial means of any kind, atleast bring a copy of the most important documentation with you. A visa does not guarantee access, the borderguard may ask you to show that your travel purpose is legit, the costs are or will be covered and that you are not a risk of any kind. Have some contact details such as a telephonenumber of your sponsor/host at hand too or better yet have them wait for you at the airport. Just some preperation incase you do get checked more extensively by an eager or grumphy guard. For all you know you can simply walk through but it’s always good to be prepared. Nothing to worry over though, don’t expect a full interogation or them checking tons of documents such as some silly embassies that wish to see birtcertificates and marital status for some nonsense reason. The border guard simply wants to easily verify that you are a bona fide traveller. Save travels!
No, I don’t think so, just enough money for travel tax.
How to apply if you’re a Philippine Passport holder living in the US? Thank you!

Hi!
My sister and I got an invitation from my French National friend. So these are my queries:
a. Is it fine if his parents will provide the attestation d accueil? Will there be an issue if my sis and I have the same sponsor? Will they ask personal questions regarding my relationship with his parents? I havent talked to them yet.
b. My sis and I are in abroad but after our contract we will apply schengen visa in the Phil. So is it ok if we dont have proof of employment? But we have bank statement that can sustain our 7 day stay there.
c. Our appointment in the Phil is on Aug 26. Is it ok if we return to Davao on 27th right after the appointment? Or should we stay longer in Manila?
d. My sis and I are applying for student visa for Aus as well (after the trip, if granted!) Will they consider this as valid reason that we will not be overstaying in France?
Thankyou so much. Im getting crazy for a month! Im not renewing my contract here because of this trip.
God bless us all
Hi wonderlass! My boyfriend & I are traveling to France this Sept for 12 days. Thank u for all the tips!…I managed to talk to an agent of Malaya Insurance & he told me that the insurance premium would only cost premium will be P1,100 for 15 days worldwide travel (including schengen and europe). Likewise, P1M is the benefit for accidental death, dismemberment and/or disablement cover (ok lang ba to since accdg sa requirement, dapat at least 30.000 Euros?) while P2.5M is the emergency medical treatment benefit in case of hospitalization due to accident/sickness. I haven’t purchased it yet as I had lots of inquiry from him like kung pwede nila indicate na for schengen/Europe siya & not just France. However, since I’ll be coming from Singapore & not the Philippines, I would only be covered once in Paris & not the whole duration of the trip, ok lng ba yun? Tapos, need pb talaga to indicate the ff sa certificate:
> The insurance company must be re-insured, the name of the re-insurer and his TOLL FREE phone number must be listed on the policy.
> The policy must allow CASHLESS SETTLEMENTS of claims. The name of the company in charge of such settlements and their toll free number must be clearly stated on the policy.
Any advice would be very much appreciated!
Just an update. All four of us were given visa. Thank God
congratulations to that.
If allowed i would like to share my story (going on for nearly 2 years) hoping that someone maybe has a userful hint to me.
Actually: Me is german, living in germany as well. My partner (I will call her “she” cause she is all femine for me, but by passport still man, as a transexual person) is philippina with philippines citizenship too.
So last year we already applied for a visitors/tourist visa, as i did do the formal application form, even giving my income statements and all this, together with flight reservations, insurrance for her and simply every needed things. I even did put around 4.000 euro to her account as she was requested for bank statements too.
She made that appointment in German Embassy, and did went there happyly. The shock came then. The “Interview” wasnt even an interview, the Lady there just asked her “Why you go there” and “How you know your sponsor”. That was all. 2 sentences. And she had a packet of prooves of our knowledge, that i visited there two times before and all this. No further comment that girl give.It was done after 1 minute. And the moment she left my GF could see her already stamping it. supposingly denied. Without even checking the whole papers.
However, around a week later we got notice it was denied.
I didnt accept it and requested a review, to at least know reason, and it was so very common reason:”no proove of rootyness in the philippines”. What a stupid and nonsense reason. I (just because of my nationality) can travel nearly any country in the world without any visa or “sponsor”, and noone asks me for my “rootyness” ever.
I was trying to discuss it, beside that i did see it as a horrible discrimination, but its useless.
The Problem now we were discussing over and over was: what to do now?
The basic prooves they demand, we cant deliever. She is NOT doing a job actually (as she is taking care for the kids of her sister, which DO work), the money on the bank obviously doesnt count, property is not given (in meaning of owning house or land).
So this seems to me a ridiculous dead end street?
Long distance relationship will end up in frrustration sooner or later as it never leads to what both are looking for. If she were a girl (or same sex marriage- what it is by law defination- would be allowed in the philippines) it wouldnt be a prob as we could simply marrry over there and make her coming here with legally family visa after she did do her language tests. But as of her gender its not an option.
So we are already at that point, that we even would do just anything to get a schengen visa in any country, to meet up and do an uncomplicated marriage in denmark. Which would be very unromantic, but at least helps us going forward.
But even this: as i am german citizen i could just sponsor her towards german embassy. Not for a visa in any other schengen country. So this also seems to be a crazy point.
So… i know thats probably the most asked and discussed question here, but does anyone just have any helpful hint?
I am meanwhile at the point that costs no longer matter if we just get things moving.
So, what only she could do to increase her chances is, that she will get a working offer/contract from a friend who is owning a business. I dont know if that really helps, but its the only thing.
So… what are the options? I am not willing to give up, but i dont see what is the best way?
Some told me she should just book a complete charter travel, like 10 days in prague over an agency, that would have good chances to be confirmed. But well… what if its declined again? a paid travel for nothing doesnt help much either.
Other option is: i know that is also a well discussed point here: what country probably could offer best chances for a visa confirmation? What about denmark, as denmark is so well known for its marriage agencies and offer for real complication free european marriage… maybe there are also agencies with good contacts to the embassy who could help out a little? Do anyone have experiences with embassies of denmark, norway or finland?
I am just thankful for any single hint, which could help us on our way. seriously. I would even go for a visadealer which promises to have contact to embassy and can guarantee (or paid on success) visa, but everything i heard about this is warning, cause most of it seems to be simple money rip off.
So please, anyone with helpful experiences or hints, please contact me, as i am just about to collapse about this issue, cause i simply cant believe that this is possible in such a global world.
Please… if you know something that could help out, dont hesitate.
Thanks in regard and thanks for reading.
Good luck to all here with the same problem.
Marc
Hi Marc
I’m Felicity a ladyboy and I applied a schengen visa to France coz my bf was a french. I understand how it feels because it happened to me, they denied my application though I answered all their queries regarding my travel to france, if you would go back to my previous post, you would see my interview experience. My bf and I traveled for 9 months around asia namely; hongkong, macau, china, thailand, laos, vietnam, cambodia, myanmar and just recently indonesia. The stamps on my passports are not enough to prove that I am capable of returning back to my country philippines. I got chinese and myanmar visa, but still not sufficient. I’m a Registered nurse in the philippines, licensed caregiver and licensed massage therapist and got a stable job in a call center industry. I submitted all my documents needed, but they still failed me. We didn’t give up I asked people what to do, so what I did, I submitted one document from my bf in france aside from attestation , he consulted his lawyer and solicitor regarding the notarized document promising that after 89 days of stay in france he will be sending me back to philippines, though he paid more than 24k just for one document. Now, I am still waiting for the visa either this week or last week of the month, my flight would be on Sept. 5, 2014..it was really a stressful and disappointing experience, I hope philippine french embassy would eliminate discrimination..I hope you won’t give up..patience is a virtue.. good luck..submit an appeal or motion of reconsideration.
felicity

Hello Wanderlass. I’m back again in this blog after two years. :) At that time, I was declined by the consular for my french tourist visa application. I know why even if they didn’t really specify. But this time, I have a different reason to apply. I will be learning French in France. This is of course in preparation for my pursuit to get my master’s degree in the country. Luckily, I do have a sponsor: my boss. Aside from the business documents and bank details, I would have to submit a letter of sponsorship letter right? Do i need to notarize the letter? And do you have any sample for the format? I thank you in advance for you response.
Hi ask ko sana kung makaka apply ba ako ng schengen visa for Ireland,at saka how long it takes ang visa,my medical pa ba yan at interview?hopefully to hear u soon thanx!
HELLO wanderlass, Im a bisexual po. I have this boyfriend in sweden for almost 1 and half year, i did applied tourist visa to go on sweden last year august and unfortunately i was rejected now im reapplying again.. Wich is 400k already and my bf will do sponsor me so i guess it will be lessen they required 450 kronor per day, is this enough? And then does going to school can strengthen your application? Please do reply.. im planning to apply again this month. Thanks :)
