Every information you need is now available on the new France-Visas website. After filling the visa application form, you will be redirected to the on-line appointment and tracking systems of VFS Global.

Applications can be made earliest three (3) months before the planned entry.
How much is Schengen Visa?
The visa-processing fee is EUR 60. The fee is non-refundable even if application is unsuccessful.
What are the requirements in applying Schengen Visas?
1. Signed and filled up Schengen Visa Application Form (click this) with photo attached, plus 1 additional photo.
Photo Specification
- Color photo taken against white background;
- Clear and of good quality;
- Printed on normal photographic paper;
- 45 mm high x 35 mm wide in size
- Taken with nothing covering the face, without sunglasses or tinted spectacles, or a head covering
- The subject should have their mouth closed (no grinning, frowning or raised eyebrows) and the applicant should be facing forwarding, looking straight ahead.
2. Valid passport with 3 months validity from the end of visa duration. Photo copy of valid and former visas, if any.
3. Cover letter explaining the purpose of your trip and detailed itinerary. If you don’t have this, you have to write one on the spot before they will accept your requirements. Here is the cover letter addressed to the Honorable Consul I made in 2007.
4. Details of your trip
- Round trip ticket reservation. Reservations only.
- Itinerary of the whole duration including departure and arrival dates.
- Accommodations – hotel vouchers, seriously. If you’re staying with a good friend who is a French resident/national, then you need them to provide you with something called Attestation d’accueil (Certificate of Board and Lodging) and your host’s national identity card or residence permit.
Why I said good friend? Because it’s a lot of trouble for them to get this. If you have a French national host, just cut and paste below list for the document you needed from them. These are basically records of their existence in France such as title of property or contract of lease, utility billing statement as address proof, bank statements, medical records, pay slip, and finally they have to go to the city hall to have all these certified. Like I said, lots of trouble. :)
The attestation d’accueil is a form needed to be presented to the City Hall with the following documents:
5. Proof of employment
- Certificate of employment stating monthly salary and approved leave of absence.
- If self employed, official business registration for current and previous year.
6. Proof of Income
- Income Tax Return
- Recent Bank Certification
- Photocopy of the last 3 months statement of Account of the same bank account.
- If someone other than yourself is paying for the the trip, then submit financial document of the sponsor instead.
7. Identity / Marital Status:
- Photocopy of First page of Passport and all relevant obtained visas
- Authenticated birth certificate from NSO. If married, bring photocopy of your marriage contract.
8. Travel insurance that covers the entire duration of your intended stay with minimun coverage EUR 30,000. The medical policies must state the following points :
- Medical attention and treatment will be given in case of illness or accident
- The injured or ill traveller can be transported home for treatment + body repatriation in case of death
- The insurance coverage is a least 30 000 euros (50 000 US dollars)
- The insurance must be valid for all 25 Schengen member states which should be listed on the policy
- The insurance company must be re-insured, the name of the re-insurer and his TOLL FREE phone number must be listed on the policy
- The policy must allow CASHLESS SETTLEMENTS of claims. The name of the company in charge of such settlements and their toll free number must be clearly stated on the policy.

Hi there Sey. Im not wanderlass though but for me the best insurance is malayan insurance. because its cheap and you can refund the money if ever you’ll get denied. a piece of advise get a full 1 month insurance so that they could give you a longer validity. God bless and good luck :)
thanks for responding Francis :)
i’ll gonna be having a 90 days insurance as i will be staying in Sweden (praying for my visa to be approved) for around 84 days.
do you have any idea if we still need have to have some account from the bank/money if we have a sponsor? or their documents (payslips, bank certificates) will suffice?
Hi Sey I dont reply that often but I hope it would help. I think yes show ur credentials together with your sponsor’s proof of funds. Together with their passport copy and residence permit in sweden. If they are swedish a colored passport copy will do, also include a letter from your sponsor that she will take care all of your entire sweden expenses. Godbless 90 day coverage from malayan is not that expensive have your self insured for maybe 120 days for better longevity of the visa.
thanks much Francis! :)
God bless you too!
hello everyone!

Anyone granted a visa to sweden? care to share your experiences?
thanks much! :)
If your Ate will sponsor your trip to Paris then you have to submit her financial documents like bank certificates, bank statements and proof of income like ITR. For a complete list of requirements for applying visa, just go to the website of the Embassy of France. Hope you’ll be granted a visa. Godbless

Hi Krystel. I called the airlines (singapore airlines) and requested for ticket reservation. We were given two weeks to pay for the reserved tickets. Once reserved, they will email you a copy of the reservation which you will use for your visa application.
Hello Miss Lil, I need your advice po. My fiance from The Netherlands is going to sponsor everything from my trip hopefully this coming November, but the website of Netherlands stated there that the host should need to have atleast of proof of income for 12 month, but he has only 6 month income this month. So this what I did, I message the consular who helped with the questions regards the visa, and she did told me that I need to submit his 6 months contract but however she do advise me to submit my own income. But the thing is I will open a bank account this month and put a 1000 euros, do you think is that enough for me to be granted visa for a 60 days of visiting? Please do reply to me, I need your advice! Thank you Lil
Hello! I’m wondering if I have a chance of getting a Schengen tourist visa. I’m still a college student in DLSU, have money in my bank account (but no ITR), have gotten a student visa in France from a student exchange program I did last year.
Hello wanderlass, my sponsor from Netherlands has only a 6 months contract from his work. But, we both want to visit me there for 3 months. Do you think I am possible to apply a visa with his 6 months of income? Please I need your help!
You can try to get additional sponsor, like his parents? If not, then you will just have to try submitting just 6 months worth, maybe they’ll consider.
But the general affairs in Netherlands consular told me that I can submit his 6 months contract and she advised me to have my own bank account with enough sufficient for myself. I am just a student and planning to open one, and putting a little enough money for that like 1000 euros for 2 months and my host will sponsor everything for my trip. Do you think, that is quiet enough to show to them? Thank you again Ms Lil, please hep me.

Hello! I’m planning to apply for an Austrian tourist visa because my bf is living there. Also, he’ll apply for an electronic affidavit liability. Currently, I’m a working student. I work online so it’s not a full-time employment and I can’t obtain a Leave of Absence letter from the online company. Can my Leave of Absence form from my school suffice that?
May I know how many days was your itinerary? will we get higher chance of getting a visa if we told the embassy that we will just stay for a couple of days instead of 3 months?
