How to apply for South African Visa in the Philippines?
It was a bit of a challenge looking for information online as there is no website of South African Embassy in the Philippines. But I found the requirements without having to go through a travel agency.
My experience was quite smooth sailing. The consular assistant was really friendly to me. There were only standard questions asked and I told her about my booking a flight on a whim and seemed to appreciate the story. She received my application and asked me to collect it one week later.  I got 28 days visa per my application. But actually I stayed 29 days!
Anyway, here you go, 3-Step guide on how to get a South Africa visa for Philippine Passport holders.

Hi! I was wondering if you know if this information (regarding requirements) is still updated. May I also know where you obtained a copy of the form? Did you just scan it or do they have a site where it is uploaded? Thank you!
I applied December 2013 so I believe the info is current. I got the list & form through email. You can go to embassy and they give you the same.
Ok thank you so much, and thank you for your post! :)
Thanks for your very informative posts. Great help for Filipino travelers! :)

Great info!
hmm, one of my worst experience in applying a visa was in SA embassy. I applied South African Visa more than once, and the first time experience was horrible. The Kabayans in South Africa and nearby countries also complained of rude experiences from that consular assistant. I even sent an email to the embassy regarding the bad experience and feedback Not unless there was a new hire. She was the same person that I applied 2 years and ago and the recent was only late late year.
I believe it’s the same person because she looks like she’s been there forever. But truth be said, before it was my turn, I thought I will have a problem with her attitude. I spoke with some of the people in front of me, and they told me that after 3 months, they still do not have their visa and they were leaving for ZA that night. And they were also asked to deposit 35,000 pesos reimbursable when they come back. But when it was my turn, it was super straightforward. I think the problem lies in they used a travel agency who didn’t take care of them. Or maybe your email to the embassy changed her.
I believe she is still the same person, as I wrote the email 2 years ago. Wonder why most of the kabayans working in embassies has a time warp syndrome :-). .The last time I encountered this was in Norway embassy. I printed the wrong document and kabayan rejected my application right when on the second try, I found out that between her checking and the final submission of my documents, I still have all the time in the world to reprint that wrong document Aw 5 hours wasted because of whimsical attitude of another kabayans working in embassy.
She told me case to case basis. So I guess I’m a special case. Consular workers love me.
Nakakuha ba sila ng visa that group? Im leaving for za next week and i was asked to deposit 35k and i dont know if i can get the visa same day. Hahay. Im using my asiamiles for this trip. Sayang lang kung mawala.
Yes, they were asked to get their passport in the same afternoon.
