Like everyone, you would like to stay at Microtel Palawan when in Puerto Princesa. It’s perfect because you’re technically still in the city, yet you have the magnificent Emerald beach outside your hotel room. And it’s not just some patch of sand I’m talking about, it’s a beach that stretches forever.
Microtel Puerto Princesa Palawan is only 7 minutes from the airport and has quite easy access to all of Puerto Princesa attractions, such as the wonder that is Puerto Princesa Underground River. It was really great to be hosted by Microtel Puerto Princesa Palawan when I was visiting for the PPUR Day 2015 Celebration.
Microtel Palawan: Pool and Restaurant
The Room
First of all, the rooms at Microtel Puerto Princesa Palawan are huge! This is their regular room with 2 queen size beds! You don’t have to flip coin as to who gets the bigger bed when sharing with a mate. What a treat that I got this room all to myself. Another good thing to note is that Microtel got orthopaedic mattresses for beds, so you’ll sleep great with no fear of waking up with back pain.
Rooms are equipped with aircon, cable tv, and internet. Shower room has hot and cold water and stacked with some toiletries.
The View
Especially if you’re a morning person, Microtel Puerto Princesa Palawan gives you an amazing sunrise view. You will have the beach to yourself. You can sit by the pool, or the hammock and wait for the sun to color the sky.

Microtel Puerto Princesa Palawan
More than the room and the view, Microtel Puerto Princesa Palawan is an overall great hotel. The staff are courteous and friendly, from the front desk, to the restaurant staff, the pool guy, the cleaning staff, all of them! It is no surprise that it is 2015 Traveler’s Choice on Trip Advisor.
By the pool is this restaurant that serves amazing buffet breakfast. The menu is different everyday. I like that they have an egg & omelette station where you get to chose how your eggs be cooked and what goes in it. Free flowing coffee and juice is available the whole day. Unfortunately I don’t have more photos because I’m always in a rush in the morning. But trust me that it is excellent!
