It’s easier than ever for Filipinos to apply for Japanese tourist visa. Anyone who applied with proper documents is almost guaranteed entry. And all those who have previously been to Japan is granted 5 years visa. But this year there’s an additional form to fill up to request for multiple visa, so don’t forget
Japan Visa Application Procedure
Since July 30, 2007, Japan tourist visa application can only be made through an accredited travel agencies by the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines. The travel agency will check your requirements before submitting them on your behalf. This is actually more efficient because it saves a lot of time for both the applicant and the embassy. However, time is money, so while the Japan visa remains free, the travel agencies will be charging processing fee. It varies per agency

Hi! Thank you for these really helpful post. Do you (or anyone else) happen to know the minimum visa application period/days before the trip itself? My trip is already on March but I’m still yet to apply for my visa because of bank account problems, do you think it would be possible to apply on February (a month before the trip)? Thank you very much! I hope you can answer my question (^^)
Thanks for your blog as it is very helpful! I have a question, my wife and I were on 90 day visas (I’m a filipino citizen and she’s a US citizen but we both reside in States. We had applied for work visas and she got approved, and already has her Residence card while we were in Japan. My Eligibility Certificate is still processing. She can go back to Japan no problem, but as for me, I’m trying to see what would be the best visa to apply for to be able to come back. I was hoping to apply for 2nd 90 day visa but how risky is that? I stayed for about 75 days. I don’t want to be apart from my wife that long while my work visa is still pending. Is a short term tourist 30 day visa my best option! Hoping to take advantage of the Relaxation of Visa Requirements for flipinos and want to maximize my stay in the Japan as my work visa is processing. Thanks you!
Hi, may tita kse aq sa Japan.. then gusto niya aq kunin at doon mgwork
Anu ba Yung mas mas magandang kuning visa? Wala po kse aqng ideA
Hi, Wanderlass.. My God! good thing I really found this. I have a question. What kind of visa will I apply, if for example, I will just visit Japan for, let’s just say 2 days? And then I will just go to Disneyland and Universal studios? Then, does it have a necessary value of money you have in your bank account?
I don’t know how the embassy thinks, but I think if you have 100K pesos in the bank that should be ok. It is suspicious to pay 20K for airfare and only stay for 2 days. So that may raise questions.
Hi Wanderlas, I have a question on what type of visa should we apply for, we plan for a family trip to japan this coming January, and my mother in law works as a domestic helper in tokyo (she won’t covering any of the expenses) for our trip. Should we apply for TOURIST (No Guarantor) or TOURIST(VISIT RELATIVES). Thank you so much…
If I were you, I would just apply for tourist visa. That’s why I did the last time. I did not use my sister’s document to apply for visa like the previous times. It needs too many requirement and I pay for my own trip anyway. I got 5 years visa.
Hi Wanderlass, thank you so much for the response… Another question, is it worth it to buy a 7 day JR pass, we would like to see Osaka, Kyoto and may be another trip outside tokyo for the kids to enjoy the snow? Also our return trip to Manila is through Nagoya. By the way our trip is from Jan18-28, any suggestion on the Itinerary is highly appreciated…
JRPass is worth it! Take the 7 day pass for about 14,000pesos. Travel form Tokyo to Kyoto then Nara then Osaka then Nagoya w/in 7 days. Tokyo to Kyoto palang worth it na ang JRPass.
Thanks a lot :-)
By the way, I’ve read something about taking NightBus, do you recommend this for cheaper transportation in Japan? Thanks again, we really appreciate the response :-)
Hi Wanderlass, we now have our 15days Japan visa… thank you so much…
Hi there! I visited Japan last May and will be visitinf again hopefully by the ebd of this month. It was a visit visa with a foreign guarantor.
I would like to ask if the requirements would be exactly the same as the ones I submitted before just updated?
Hi, Nan! I think that’s fine. So long na ikaw nakalagay sa birth certificate ni child. :)

Hello wanderlas. Ive been following you for a while now. Im planning to visit japan this coming sept. I have concern about the requirements speciffically the hotel voucher. Do i really need a hotel voucher? What to do? Im planning to submit the requirements ASAP. Please give me some tips about my concern, anyone? TIA ?
Hala napost pala to. Sorry po. Dala dalawa tuloy. ?
Hii there. Thank you so much for this post.
I have a few questions though, since I’m extremely anxious about getting my visa approved.
Here is my profile:
– First time traveler, will be travelling with my boyfriend (whose dad is in Tokyo) in Feb 2017 for five days (19-25). Tokyo lang.
– Already booked plane tickets and hotel accommodation.
– Fresh graduate, almost 3 months employed, asked our company accountant when they can release the ITR, she said late January. Asked my colleague (who is also going to Japan, same flight) when they released last year’s ITR, December 2015 daw.
– Bank Certificate, work in progress pa lang. Target amount: 50-60k.
I’m super nervous kasi first time ko lang mag travel out of the country but I’ve seen bloggers saying that their visa has been approved regardless of their travel history. Really nervous about the ITR as well. I feel like the ITR is a huge basis. Hope guys can give me tips kasi this is really taking its toll on me, sobrang kinakabahan ako and I really want to visit Japan to witness the architecture and cityscapes, take photographs and of course experience their rich culture.
Thank youu.
