Every information you need is now available on the new France-Visas website. After filling the visa application form, you will be redirected to the on-line appointment and tracking systems of VFS Global.

How much is Schengen Visa?Â
The visa-processing fee is EUR 60. The fee is non-refundable even if application is unsuccessful.
What are the requirements in applying Schengen Visas?
1. Signed and filled up Schengen Visa Application Form (click this) with photo attached, plus 1 additional photo.
Photo Specification
- Color photo taken against white background;
- Clear and of good quality;
- Printed on normal photographic paper;
- 45 mm high x 35 mm wide in size
- Taken with nothing covering the face, without sunglasses or tinted spectacles, or a head covering
- The subject should have their mouth closed (no grinning, frowning or raised eyebrows) and the applicant should be facing forwarding, looking straight ahead.
2. Valid passport with 3 months validity from the end of visa duration. Photo copy of valid and former visas, if any.
3. Cover letter explaining the purpose of your trip and detailed itinerary. If you don’t have this, you have to write one on the spot before they will accept your requirements. Here is the cover letter addressed to the Honorable Consul I made in 2007.
4. Details of your trip
- Round trip ticket reservation. Reservations only.
- Itinerary of the whole duration including departure and arrival dates.
- Accommodations – hotel vouchers, seriously. If you’re staying with a good friend who is a French resident/national, then you need them to provide you with something called Attestation d’accueil (Certificate of Board and Lodging) and your host’s national identity card or residence permit.
Why I said good friend?  Because it’s a lot of trouble for them to get this. If you have a French national host, just cut and paste below list for the document you needed from them.  These are basically records of their existence in France such as title of property or contract of lease, utility billing statement as address proof, bank statements, medical records, pay slip, and finally they have to go to the city hall to have all these certified. Like I said, lots of trouble. :)
The attestation d’accueil is a form needed to be presented to the City Hall with the following documents:
5. Proof of employment
- Certificate of employment stating monthly salary and approved leave of absence.
- If self employed, official business registration for current and previous year.
6. Proof of Income
- Income Tax Return
- Recent Bank Certification
- Photocopy of the last 3 months statement of Account of the same bank account.
- If someone other than yourself is paying for the the trip, then submit financial document of the sponsor instead.
7. Identity / Marital Status:
- Photocopy of First page of Passport and all relevant obtained visas
- Authenticated birth certificate from NSO. If married, bring photocopy of your marriage contract.
8. Travel insurance that covers the entire duration of your intended stay with minimun coverage EUR 30,000. The medical policies must state the following points :
- Medical attention and treatment will be given in case of illness or accident
- The injured or ill traveller can be transported home for treatment + body repatriation in case of death
- The insurance coverage is a least 30 000 euros (50 000 US dollars)
- The insurance must be valid for all 25 Schengen member states which should be listed on the policy
- The insurance company must be re-insured, the name of the re-insurer and his TOLL FREE phone number must be listed on the policy
- The policy must allow CASHLESS SETTLEMENTS of claims. The name of the company in charge of such settlements and their toll free number must be clearly stated on the policy.

My plan vacation is maximum of 3months coz im going to Mayotte Island too…to see the life of my boyfriend. do u think Mayotte Island is part of Schengen Visa? since that Island is territory of France. thanks thanks…
Kuting, I will have my interview on June 23 at France embassy. I have attestation d’ accueil but only until Aug. 2011 coz she thought that my vacation is only almost two months coz that’s the vacation time of my bf there., when she want to cancelled and change the date, can’t anymore.The attestation is from my bf’s aunt the sister of her mama, coz his mama is not capable of having attestation. My bf is in Mayotte Island, and he can’t get attestation coz there is a quota. and our flight is on July 9,2011.Do u have any advise for me? and also my bf will email the embassy and explain everything.thanks..
@rose ill pray for you rose..please share some tips after the interview please..Godbless
hi Miki, thanks..did u apply too?
I got my visa :)
congrats kuting..
Congrats!
Kuting ask ko lang if u work too? and then did u present an ITR? i didnt get an ITR, but i have cert of employment, leave of absence and payslips.
Yes I work in Human Resources :) You need to present an ITR. Available na ang 2010 ITR, I think for more than 2 months na. Have you inquired with your HR department? It’s your right to receive it.
Kuting ask lang ako again na i work 6 months pa lang sa company namin, and then im only earning a minimum pay then here were not deducted with a tax kc minimum lang, do i still need to present an ITR kahit wlang tax deductions?
oh roselyn if your untie will be sponsoring you,dont forget to ask her a copy of her bank account/cash flow or salary specification.Thats one very important.
@ roselyn..yun lang naman…but just in case i forgot to tell you something,you can always read their website or you can email them .Me and my host emailed them 2 times for different inquiries.The good thing about the swiss embassy is they really reply sa emails pero syempre at first sabihin nila sayo to read their website kasi andun na lahat pero just like in my case ne nadelay yung passport ko,when i emailed them and inquired what i should do,they advised me to reschedule my appointment.So my point is if may part na need mo talaga malaman is you can email them…kasi baka case to case basis din…family mo kasi host mo sakin kasi bf ko so baka my difference.Read the checklist and yung application form.You can download that kasi my part dun if family yung host..i guess need ng proof that you are really relatives.Goodluck and hoping hindi madelay yung passport mo if you still dont have it.
@Maricar:
Thank you so much Maricar for your information and i dont really know where i start because its my first time. Kasi ang mag sponsor sa akin yong auntie ko at kapag ma release na yong passport ko mag prepare na ako ng mga requirements ko para maka apply na ako ng visa for switzerland. At maliban sa travel insurance,certificate of employment and copy nang ID nang host ano pa ang iba nilang requirements nila sorry from the host or sponsor?
thanks
Rose
This is very useful. I wonder though if it’s usually easier to get approved if you have an invitation and sponsor. I just applied at the Netherlands embassy and the Filipina clerk was so rude. She sounded like she didn’t want to hear my story (I was explaining something about my host) and was only interested in the technical stuff. My travel agent said everything has to be explained thoroughly so I was shocked that this woman would act like she has something stuck in her @$$ and wanted to be out of there immediately. And she was just a clerk for eff’s sake!
i would hand over my documents and answer only when asked. as u said, she’s a clerk, therefore only tasked to received documents and check if it is complete. has no power whatsoever on the approval of visa. so i wouldn’t worry too much about it.=)
This is so useful! Thanks alot!!
My husband got the guy (feminine) in Window 4 as well. He was full of himself! We did get a visa and we went to Paris and came back! I wasn’t even in Paris more than 30 minutes yet and my backpack with ipad 2, camera & all my electronic chargers got stolen off my luggage cart! ARGGGG!!!
Anyway, that’s life!
Hi Gypsy! Yes, i had a horrible experience with window no. 4 as well….But I also did get a visa. I think he’s fair enough, though he’s got this superiority complex thingie in him.
Sad to hear about your bad experience in Paris.
@Marie- 4years & 6months. My colleagues were all shocked upon learning my result. They were all positive that I could get it as they are all aware that I have all the requirements and that I’ll be back at work on time. I was assigned at Window 4. This is headache. Someone please help!
Sorry this is for JD. Did you apply on your own or with a host?
On my own, as i dont know anyone from France. Tourism is the only purpose why I am going there. I’ve fancied about Paris and Italy since I was a kid, which led me to studying French and Italian in college, and then this year applied a visa to visit those places but unfortunately was refused. dang!
Sorry to hear that :( I won’t get my results til Thursday but we’re not sure if we would still file an appeal if in the worst case I get rejected. I did mine with an attestation d’accueil from my fiance’s mom (hes based kasi here so he couldn’t do the attestation), I think the appeal needs to be lodged in France for my case because of the attestation. The appeal procedure is actually quite hazy :( Personally, I’d rather not file an appeal because it’s such a waste of time!! I’ll post updates here in any case and try to ask about the appeal procedure. What really sucks is how single Filipinas are profiled as potential illegal immigrants/prostitutes/mail order brides. I hate racial profiling!
