It’s easier than ever for Filipinos to apply for Japanese tourist visa. Anyone who applied with proper documents is almost guaranteed entry. And all those who have previously been to Japan is granted 5 years visa. But this year there’s an additional form to fill up to request for multiple visa, so don’t forget
Japan Visa Application Procedure
Since July 30, 2007, Japan tourist visa application can only be made through an accredited travel agencies by the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines. The travel agency will check your requirements before submitting them on your behalf. This is actually more efficient because it saves a lot of time for both the applicant and the embassy. However, time is money, so while the Japan visa remains free, the travel agencies will be charging processing fee. It varies per agency

yah let’s stamp all the applications denied lol… im a filipina, resident here in japan… We own few companies… A huge Tax payer… i invited my staffs in phils, guaranttor and docs are completed we pay billion peso every year for damn Tax! Was surprised y they were denied! I tried to spoke to ministry of foriegn affairs..all i got was ” We couldn’t answer your question” So freakin annoying!
well, sometimes it is very difficult to understand the mind of a consul. They could be generous with the visa, and other times, they could deny your application outright. A well-travelled applicant can be denied visa while a first-timer can be issued his visa. Who knows what a consul is thinking?
Hi! This is very informative and helpful but i still need help. I dont have a bank account yet so i’d like to know what kind of bank account i should open to get a bank cert. thank you!

Hi! I just want to thank you for this informative blog post! :) I was totally clueless regarding the application process and requirements for a tourist visa, especially because I’m still a student, still financially dependent on my parents. :) I passed my requirements last Friday, March 22 and today, the travel agency told me that I was granted a visa valid until June. :) yay! Congratulations on your blog :)

Hello! :D
I just would like to ask if kasama mo ang parents mo sa iyong trip to Japan. If not, may I just know what you submitted as proofs for financial status (eg. ITR, bank certificates, etc). Thank you so much. :)
Applied for my son and wife’s visa. They are Phil. nationals and I am foreigner with Permanent Resident status of Japan and here in Phil as TRV.
Submitted the following docs:
Passports, Forms, Photos
Birth certificates of both, marriage contract
Invitation letter from a Japanese friend
Additional Invitation letter from my side
Guarantee letter from Japanese friend
Additional Guarantee letter from my side as husband and PR holder of Japan
Income Cert and Tax docs of Japanese guarantor
Juminhyo of Japanese guarantor
Copy of my Japan resident card
Copy of my Passport with entry-exit stamps Phil/Japan
Copy of my Phil ACR-I card
My bank certificate from BDO worth 550k
(Because I am in the Phil presently, so I was unable to get my Juminhyo from City hall in Japan as well as my Japanese bank certificate, that’s why I used guarantee as well as invitation of my friend)
More docs:
OR&CR of 1 car and 1 dump truck registered on my wife name (visa applicant)
Contract of lease of our residential apartment (my wife’s name)
Court order/judgment valued Php 820k in favor of my wife (one of her case for sum of money/estafa/bp-22). 27k installment for every month until 2015.
additional documents to prove my friendship with Japanese guarantor:
6 months telephone calling record to prove relation between me and Japanese friend. (Approximately 6 hrs calling per month)
Print outs of e-mails between me and Japanese guarantor
My Japanese cellular phone bill as well as credit card (Japanese) bill indicating the business address of Japanese guarantor (which I always use during my absence from japan for up to date payments)
I filed through Reli tours Dusit thani office. Today was 8th working day in the embassy. But no news yet. Actually this application fall under the category of visiting relative (Because I am the husband and Permanent Resident of Japan). I am badly waiting and don’t know how long it will take. Now I am advised by the agency to follow up on Monday.
