I don’t do a lot of staycation because when I’m home (I mean, when I’m in the Philippines), I like access to all my things. But my 7 years old Tokyo based nephew Jin loves staying in hotels eversince he was little. So when they’re visiting Manila, we’d sometimes check-in to hotels, usually in Ortigas or Makati. There really wasn’t any nice hotel in Quezon City, not until Seda Vertis North.
Seda is a hotel chain owned by AyalaLand that has sprung around the Philippines the last couple of year. It now has total of 7 properties in its portfolio: Bacolod, BGC, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Ilo-ilo, Nuvali, and now in Quezon City.
I was recently invited to stay at Seda Vertis North for a weekend of relaxation. I was really impressed, and happy that we now have a hotel in Quezon City that is comparable to those in Makati.
Seda Vertis North has a beautiful lobby, welcoming guest rooms, instagrammable swimming pool, an all day buffet restaurant (Misto), roof deck bar (Straight Up), and amenities like gym and spa. It also has function rooms that can accommodate up to 450 pax. It is also a stone-throw away from Ayala Vertis North Mall.
Lobby
Seda Vertis North lobby is beautiful and spacious. The ceiling is high and as property is wide, it gives one a sense of arrival. It is more than your typical business hotel. It is evident that they give value to the ambiance as well as the functionality.
This is the signature of Ayala properties which I appreciate. They like to make beautiful things. I mean look at their malls. They don’t just construct buildings with shop spaces; they want you to have a pleasant experience while you’re inside their property.
The interior uses a palette of neutral colors with splash of reds. It gives you a sense of calm but wouldn’t put you to sleep. The lobby showcases iconic pieces by known Filipino artists which encourages interaction with guest. By that I mean, to take selfie photos.

Rooms
Of course, the most important part of your hotel stay would be your room. The rooms at Seda Vertis North are spacious, bigger than the typical hotel guest rooms. The deluxe room has a king size bed, or twin double beds.
The room decor like the rest of the hotel is minimalistic but with some thoughtful details, like the universal outlet and USB charger. It has a condo vibe to it, makes you feel at home.

Club Lounge
If you stay in the premiere rooms, you get access to the club lounge which gives you a bit of privacy. It serves breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails. Club guests can also do check-in/out here.
Restaurants
Misto is an all-day buffet restaurant that is now popular among Quezon City residents. It offers a variety of cuisines, mainly Filipino, Chinese, and Japanese. It has a pasta station, cold cuts & cheese, and a big spread of dessert. The price per person is P1650.
The dining space is spacious at the same time cozy. The bright white interior with teak accent resembles those quaint hipster coffee shops. It has communal table where you have the option to share with other diners. And they serve detox water!
Straight Up is the bar located at the roof deck level. It’s a chill place for happy hour with a mini buffet served from 5-7pm. Unlimited wine for 800pesos until 8pm. From 8pm onwards, a beer bucket (5 bottles) comes with free pica-pica.
Straight Up also has al fresco seating with view of the city, well, of Edsa traffic and Trinoma. It is a non-smoking bar unfortunately, not even at the open area.
An upscale Chinese Restaurant is soon to open which I’m looking forward to.
Seda Vertis North Chef’s Table
One of the highlight of this weekend staycation (for me) is the dinner party the hotel prepared for us. The Chef’s Table concept is a private dining style where your group gets the front row seat to view the masterful crafting of your dinner.
The venue is in the chef’s office, the kitchen. While it may lack the interior decoration, the contrast of the beautifully prepared food with the simple ambiance actually enhances your dining experience. All senses is focused on the food. It’s like closing your eyes to listen to a classical music.
The experience was exceptional!
You may contact Seda Vertis North if you’re interested to book a Chef’s Table dinner party. Contact information at the end of this post.

Location
What makes Seda Vertis North even more attractive is its location. It is located just across Trinoma Mall, although at present, there is no access from the back side. You’ve to get out to EDSA and walk along the highway to the entrance of Trinoma.
However, there’s the new Ayala Mall in Vertis North that is just beside the hotel. The mall features the usual retail shops, new restaurants, cinemas.
