It’s easier than ever for Filipinos to apply for Japanese tourist visa. Anyone who applied with proper documents is almost guaranteed entry. And all those who have previously been to Japan is granted 5 years visa. But this year there’s an additional form to fill up to request for multiple visa, so don’t forget
Japan Visa Application Procedure
Since July 30, 2007, Japan tourist visa application can only be made through an accredited travel agencies by the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines. The travel agency will check your requirements before submitting them on your behalf. This is actually more efficient because it saves a lot of time for both the applicant and the embassy. However, time is money, so while the Japan visa remains free, the travel agencies will be charging processing fee. It varies per agency

Hi! This is really helpful but I wanted to clarify one thing. It said at the bottom that USA is included in the list of countries that aren’t required any visa for 90 days. I’m living in Philadelphia and a green card holder therefore, I have a Philippine passport and still a Filipino citizen. Am I included in the US or the Philippine jurisdiction?
hi kai,
according to https://japan.visahq.com/requirements/Philippines/resident-United_States/
If you are NOT a permanent resident of the US or holding valid work authorization under E, L, O, H, P visa, you MUST follow the instructions for a VISITOR VISA.
hope this helps!

Hello! Thank you for this. It might be too early but my siblings and I are planning to go in Japan on 2016 so I’m getting our itinerary ready but I have a question, it is not required to travel to other countries before going there right?
Some relatives always tell me why not travel to non-visa countries before going in Japan but I really want to experience my first travel in Japan.
Me too! This December 14, 2014 I booked a ticket to japan. It was super cheap so I went ahead and booked it. I submitted my documents last November 28. They told me they will just call me. I’m still a student so all I submitted was my passport, daily itinerary, study load, nso, student id copy and application form. Oh I also submitted a bank certificate. Keeping my fingers crossed! It will be my first time abroad if granted. Good luck to you!

Hi,
I just wanna ask some questions about visiting in Japan, i’ve been to Japan before and i was actually granted for 90 days tourist visa but the thing is that, i dont even know where to start because the company that i was working with before did the application on my behalf, i just give my passport and a picture. Now the friends that i have met before when i was still in japan would like to invite me, ips it possible to get another 90 days visa again given that i was granted before? I think i do have all the requirements, but i dont have enough funds in my bank and what would be the first step that i need to do? Hope to hear from u:) godspeed!

Hi!
Great post. Btw, is the ITR necessary? I am an online worker, earning more than most. But I don’t have an ITR :( It’s my dream to visit Japan. Hope you could help. Thanks!
ITR is important, otherwise you can’t do things that requires ITR. Start paying your taxes. It’s everyone’s responsibility.
